Imagine the situation. You're just about to telephone your key client with confirmation of a deal before the deadline and at that second your phone system goes down. That's when you're likely to start looking around urgently for telephone system support!
The mobile
OK, perhaps today the gap would be bridged urgently by using a mobile or running down to the nearest call box.
Yet that doesn't deal with the reputation damage that arises when your client gets a call from you originating from a public phone box.
Yet if you're having such troubles, making outbound calls may be the least of your troubles.
You may also find:
· customers can't call inbound to you;
· you can't exchange data with anyone;
· some of your internal communications have failed;
· your employees are sitting around doing nothing.
All in all, a highly undesirable situation.
Keeping your system up and running
Having a preventative maintenance contract may help you avoid such things occurring.
However, no maintenance company could give you the assurance that such a failure will never happen and that's why a telephone system support contract that includes problem resolution may be highly advisable.
Key to achieving that is having people available that understand the technicalities of your system.
It might also be possible to take out some form of what's called a standby agreement - meaning that if your system does fail then your office or site immediately switches to a backup service until such time as your own system can be restored.
It may even be possible to have something called a UPS - which basically means that if there is a total power failure your system would continue to operate from its own reserve power source.
Business comfort
You may go many years without your telephone system failing on you - in fact it may never do so.
Yet, however modern your technology is, a technical failure is always possible. If your business is dependent upon its business telephony then such a failure may prove catastrophic.
Having a telephone system support contract may help you achieve a little more peace of mind that should the worst happen - you are protected!

Getting Out The Best Of Your Phone Systems
As you probably know, running a business in the 21st century isn't easy. You need all the help and support you can get from every quarter - including your business phone equipment.
Business phones - at the heart of business
It's difficult to imagine a business that could function today without having some form of business telecoms infrastructure.
That may be nothing more than perhaps 2-3 handsets connected to the external telephone system (the PSTN) or it could be a sophisticated system that carries voice, video and data services.
What is important is that your business phone equipment provides the support your business needs.
Selecting a system - not always easy
After many years of global de-regulation of the telecoms industry, the one thing you won't find is an absence of choice.
Today there may be quite literally dozens if not hundreds of systems to choose from.
Some may offer very high-tech facilities that your business simply doesn't need and perhaps never will.
Others may offer what appears to be a very attractive price but they may not have the capability for easy expansion that may be necessary to accommodate your business as it grows.
Choosing between these competing options is something best done based on expert advice - and we would be pleased to offer our services to help.
Keeping business telecoms equipment in shape
You may have a business phone equipment configuration that is very well suited to your needs and upgrading just for the sake of new technology isn't always a good idea.
Yet if your system is aging slightly, the risks of encountering faults perhaps increase.
That's why setting up a telephone systems maintenance contract might be a very sensible and prudent step.
Preventative maintenance may help you extend the lifespan of your system and it may help prevent potential disastrous system failures.
If nothing else, it will confirm to the supplier that you have a certain type of system and that means they may be able to ensure that they are fully familiar with it. That pre-knowledge may be very important in helping them fix any problems that arise, speedily and efficiently.
Reducing your risks
Through a combination of using proven quality solutions such as those from Siemens, plus preventative maintenance, you may be able to get great business development support from your small business phone system.
As we move further into the 21st century that could make the difference between success and failure.
So if you're considering replacing your business phone equipment or just looking to have the security of a support and maintenance contract behind you - we are here to help.

The Basics On What A Small Business Phone Systems
What exactly is a small business phone system? Well, that's a lot trickier question than it may appear at a first glance!
A small business's telecoms system or a small business telecoms system
This isn't just a play on words - it cuts to the very core of the nature of modern business telephone systems.
In practice, the size of your business may give little or no guide to your requirements for a phone system that will support your operation.
If your business consists of only two people and a modest turnover but you're engaged in high-tech business operations, then you may need a very sophisticated phone system to deliver you the maximum business advantage.
By contrast, you may have 100 employees and a very large turnover, but if your business is essentially labor intensive and not technically demanding, then a relatively basic function telephone system may be ideal.
Positioning for success
The key point involved in selecting a small business phone system is to understand the nature of your business, its vulnerabilities and its opportunities.
Then it is possible to start to map out how a phone system may be able to help by reducing some of the vulnerabilities while at the same time helping in the achievement of those opportunities.
Once you have a design in place, it's possible to see how that can be delivered.
Of course, it may not be necessary to purchase an entirely new system.
If your existing system is relatively modern and if a good telephone maintenance company under contract is supporting it, then it may be possible to enhance it to provide the new functionality required.
If it is too antiquated, then it may be necessary to bite the bullet and consider replacement.
If you do have to select a modern system, companies such as Siemens offer a range of systems that can meet your existing requirements while at the same time, offering you an upgrade path for the future - should things change.
Size doesn't matter
In all of this, a discussion as to whether or not your new business telecoms approach is either a large of small business phone system, really doesn't have too much meaning.
What's important is that the system provides you with telecoms support that you need and at a price that is sensible with respect to your financial position.
A small business phone system may be small in name only. Getting it right may make it a very large and critically important factor in your business success.
